Williams Retires, May Test Political Waters
Wednesday, October 22nd , 2098
Mets reliever Matt Williams announced today that he is retiring from baseball. What he does next is still anyone's guess. The popular Williams has been rumored to be considering a run for political office, namely congressman. "He hasn't told me what his plans are," said Binghamton manager Brian Lees. "I know he has an interest in politics, but he hasn't tipped his hand yet, either way." Asked whether he thought Williams was qualified to hold public office, "Lees replied, "Definitely. I think he'd be a great congressman. He has exactly the kind of leadership skills this country needs." Associates say Williams will make a decision on his future in the next few weeks.
