Hugo Pena took Texas League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 25.

For his spectacular campaign, the Arkansas Travelers star has been named the 2051 Texas League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the left fielder.

On the season he compiled a .344 batting average to go with a .462 on-base percentage. The native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic also added 34 doubles, 3 triples, 38 home runs, 120 RBIs and 118 runs scored.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 8. Dustin Dunigan of the Midland RockHounds finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Tom Luckey of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals finished third.
