Johnson Stretches Hit String to 39

Jeremy Johnson of the Tulsa Drillers has now hit safely in 39 straight games. He socked 2 hits in today's 5-3 triumph over San Antonio at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.
"39 games is a big chunk of the year, isn't it?" Johnson said to reporters. "It's hard to wrap your head around." Jeremy Johnson grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Johnson is hitting .373 for the season with 9 home runs, 49 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 85 hits in 228 at-bats and played in 61 games.
