Mills Holds Springfield Scoreless
Tuesday, July 7th , 2111
In a seemingly effortless performance, Joe Mills of the San Antonio Missions shot down the Springfield Cardinals, 10-0, on 2 hits.
"Joe was just locating so well and using his pitches," San Antonio manager David Medina said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Mills recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Springfield manager Tom King said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
So far this season, Mills has picked up no saves in no relief appearances. He has also compiled a 9-7 won-lost mark with a 4.53 ERA and fanned 100 batters in 129 innings.
