Connecting with regularity, Guard finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but the Quakes rose to the occasion and rained on his parade by winning the game, 5-4. "Guard was really good, we were just a little better," said Quakes manager Francisco Rosales in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, as long as we win." Colin Guard hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 8th and walked in the 10th.
