CAR Honors Lynchburg Left Fielder Monday, August 27th , 2108 Lynchburg Hillcats left fielder Jordan Gutierrez walked away with the Carolina League Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days. "The Hillcats fans are really behind me right now," said the 23-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better." Gutierrez batted .500 (10-for-20) with 1 home run and 7 RBIs this week on his way to the award. For the season, Gutierrez is currently batting .267 with 8 home runs and 52 RBIs. In 116 games he has reached base at a .359 rate and scored 52 runs to date. |
