Gomez Bewilders Dash in 4-0 Shutout Saturday, September 7th , 2109 Alex Gomez had an impressive outing at Ed Smith Stadium, hurling the Lynchburg Hillcats to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Winston-Salem Dash. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Winston-Salem skipper Sam Simmons said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Gomez yielded 6 hits and tallied 7 strikeouts with 2 walks.
