Reliever of the Year Goes to Nadal

At the age of 25, Juan Nadal says he still has a lot to learn about life in Carolina League.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Winston-Salem Dash reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2112 Carolina League Reliever of the Year.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native said.

For the season, Nadal had 13 saves in 49 relief appearances, which totaled 76.1. He fanned 104 betters, while walking 34 and put up a record of 8-8 to go with his 2.83 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ryan LaBrasca of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans finished second in voting, while Israel Ledezma of the Salem Red Sox finished third.
