Frederick's Tarshis Takes Best Pitcher Prize Monday, October 3rd , 2112 Dan Tarshis finished off a fine season by taking home the Carolina League Pitcher of the Year Award today. The Frederick hurler went 21-5 on the year, posting a 2.03 ERA. Tarshis also tallied 219 strikeouts in 204.1 innings and allowed opposing batters to hit only .174 against him. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Luis Alvarado of the Potomac Nationals finished second in voting, while Danny Perez of the Potomac Nationals finished third.
