CAR Names Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Monday, October 7th , 2097 The 2097 Pitcher of the Year Award in the Carolina League has been given to Mike Walters of the Lynchburg Hillcats. The Hillcats ace worked 160.2 innings this season, crafting a 13-2 record and a 1.79 ERA in 20 starts. Walters collected 169 strikeouts while walking 42 and limiting opponents to a .182 batting average. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
