Milt Lowe took Carolina League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 26.

For his spectacular campaign, the Lynchburg Hillcats star has been named the 2097 Carolina League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the third baseman.

On the season he compiled a .296 batting average to go with a .382 on-base percentage. The native of San Diego, California also added 26 doubles, no triples, 33 home runs, 114 RBIs and 80 runs scored.

He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 8. Marco Longoria of the Lynchburg Hillcats finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while John Straub of the Lynchburg Hillcats finished third.
