Hits Galore: Benhart Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, June 19th , 2109 Tampa Yankees shortstop Jeff Benhart had a day to remember at Calvin Falwell Field, ripping apart the Bradenton Marauders and sparking the 4-3 Yankees win. Benhart wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Benhart told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Jeff Benhart singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 10th.
