Daytona's Romero Down with Injury Thursday, August 14th , 2110 The season is apparently over for Roberto Romero. The Daytona Tortugas medical staff informed the club that the reliever will be out at least 10 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Romero was hurt in the game against Bradenton while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season. He has made 11 relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Romero has achieved a 1-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .327 batting average and posting a 5.01 ERA. He has tossed 23.1 innings, given up 33 base hits, fanned 23 and issued 11 walks. |
