Gunter Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, August 17th , 2107 Jay Gunter had an answer for everything the Lakeland Flying Tigers threw at him at Roger Dean Stadium. The Palm Beach second baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Cardinals a win, 20-0. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Gunter said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Jay Gunter doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Max Almanza in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.
