Monday, October 7th , 2109
At the age of 22, Scott Wilhelm of the Fort Myers Miracle could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2109 was good enough to win the right fielder the Florida State League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .285 batting average this year, as well as a .372 on-base percentage. He played 129 games and racked up 137 hits, 33 doubles, 8 triples, 24 home runs, 91 RBIs and 80 runs scored.
He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 12. Alex Orellana of the St. Lucie Mets finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Nate Amirault of the Palm Beach Cardinals finished third.
