Miracle Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Tuesday, September 16th , 2110 The fans in Fort Myers are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Palm Beach. The Fort Myers Miracle finished off the Palm Beach Cardinals 5-3 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Hammond Stadium. They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the Round 2. For his standout play, Fort Myers right fielder Jose Duran was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .300, drove in 6 runs and scored 3 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Duran and that doomed us," said Cardinals manager Greg Cary. "Hats off to Fort Myers, though. That was a great series." The Fort Myers Miracle will play against the Dunedin Blue Jays in the next round. Dunedin won their series against the Brevard County Manatees 3 games to 1.
