FSL Awards Most Valuable Player Award, Hennessey Gets Prize

The future looks extremely bright for Jeff Hennessey. At the age of 23, many players are still trying to find their way in Florida State League.
Hennessey has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Florida State League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .354 this year, that's for sure," the shortstop said.
The Lakeland Flying Tigers star also put up a .451 on-base percentage this year, with 162 hits, 50 doubles, 5 triples, 9 home runs, 67 RBIs and 78 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jack Machamer of the St. Lucie Mets finished second in voting, while Kyle Eby of the Fort Myers Miracle finished third.
