"Ryan was just locating so well and using his pitches," Palm Beach manager Greg Cary said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Perez recorded 6 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," St. Lucie manager Troy Nelson said in postgame comments to BNN.
