Bowman Strokes 5 Hits Monday, May 12th , 2098 The Lakeland Flying Tigers stopped the Tampa Yankees by a score of 12-2 at Joker Marchant Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Chris Bowman. The 25-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Bowman said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Bowman did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yankees. "Not much that I can say," offered Tampa manager Nick Palacios. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Chris Bowman singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Cleaver in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
