St. Lucie Loses Melvin Aguero, Will Miss Season
Monday, May 14th , 2108
The doctors have spoken and Melvin Aguero of the St. Lucie Mets didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Aguero sustained his season-ending injury during the Daytona Tortugas game yesterday at Tradition Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the St. Lucie medical staff reported Aguero had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
During this season, Aguero has delivered 0 saves. In 3 relief appearances, he has 17 strikeouts in 16 innings with a 6.75 ERA and 1 win and 2 losses.
