Kernels Lubecki and LumberKings Beasley Suspended for Fight Saturday, June 7th , 2098 After an intense confrontation, both the Kernels Steve Lubecki and the LumberKings Sam Beasley were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Cedar Rapids-Clinton game. Steve Lubecki will miss 4 games, while Sam Beasley was suspended for 9 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Steve Lubecki commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In 2098 Lubecki has hit at a .199 clip with 32 hits, 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and has scored 14 times. He has made 17 relief appearances this year with 1 saves. Beasley has achieved a 2-1 record while holding opposing hitters to a .270 batting average and posting a 3.49 ERA.
