Burlington Loses Rivera for Year
Wednesday, June 12th , 2109
The season is finished for Alejandro Rivera of the Burlington Bees. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Bees starting pitcher suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Peoria Chiefs. Team doctors said it would take at least 6 months to heal.
Rivera has gone 0-1 this season with an ERA of 3.46 and 36 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .248 against him.
