Year Over for Snappers Steinman
Friday, June 6th , 2110
Beloit second baseman Mike Steinman could miss the remainder of the season because of a concussion. He exited yesterday's Cedar Rapids game after injuring himself while colliding with a player at a base. The original diagnosis said Steinman would be out 6 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This season, Steinman has banged out 42 hits in 195 at-bats for a .215 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .279 pace and his totals also include 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
