Cannavo Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 22 Sunday, August 13th , 2079 The Captains stopped Rosario Cannavo's 22-game hitting streak today at Fifth Third Field, but they couldn't stop the Dayton Dragons, falling by the score of 5-3. Cannavo didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-4. "It's just as well," Dragons manager John Sherwood said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." In his stats this season, Cannavo has posted a batting average of .286 with 128 hits in 448 at-bats, 2 home runs and 38 RBIs. He has also scored 52 runs, walked 23 times and compiled a .326 OBP. |
