Chiefs Morales Smacks 5 Hits Wednesday, August 16th , 2113 The Peoria Chiefs stopped the Cedar Rapids Kernels by a score of 15-0 at Veterans Memorial Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Juan Morales. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Morales said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Morales did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Kernels. "Not much that I can say," offered Cedar Rapids manager Moises Sanchez. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Juan Morales hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Madrigal in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
