South Bend-Bowling Green Brawl, Aguirre and Curiel Suspended Sunday, August 9th , 2111 Danny Aguirre of the South Bend Cubs and Vinny Curiel of the Bowling Green Hot Rods will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 5 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Cubs-Hot Rods game at Bowling Green Ballpark. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Aguirre and Curiel will begin serving them soon. In 77 games Aguirre is hitting .207 this season with 41 hits, 2 home runs, 22 RBIs, 12 walks, .275 OBP and has scored 22 runs. On the year, Curiel has compiled a 6-13 mark with a 4.89 ERA. |
