Brannon Earns MID's Best Pitcher Honor
Friday, August 1st , 2098
Kevin Brannon doesn't think about his career all that much. He doesn't fixate on yesterday and he doesn't worry about next season -- he has learned to worry only about today. That attitude, coupled with no saves in 1 relief appearance netted the 21-year-old reliever July's Midwest League Pitcher of the Month trophy earlier today.
The Lansing reliever pitched 29.2 innings, struck out 47 and walked 12 on the way to a 5-0 mark and a 0.61 ERA.
This season Brannon has made 10 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 12-0 won-lost mark and a 1.10 ERA. In pitching 82 innings, he has totaled 123 strikeouts and 37 walks.
