Player of the Week: Whitley of the Bees Monday, August 27th , 2108 Ray Whitley is respected by most Burlington Bees fans for his no-frills style of play. The 22-year-old shortstop went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Midwest League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .552 average (16-for-29) with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. This season, Whitley has hit at a .346 clip with 53 RBIs, 7 home runs and 78 runs scored. |
