South Bend Loses Vicente Villanueva for Season Wednesday, August 26th , 2111 Vicente Villanueva will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the South Bend starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Villanueva was injured while throwing a pitch in the Cubs-Captains clash at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium recently. Doctors said he has a torn rotator cuff and would be out a minimum of 4 months. In 25 starts this season, Villanueva has recorded a 10-9 record and a 4.08 ERA. |
