28-Game Streak Ends, Romero Hitless
Monday, September 8th , 2098
Alex Romero saw his 28-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Quad Cities River Bandits win over Burlington at Modern Woodmen Park. The 24-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Burlington Bees, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 5-4.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Romero told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 28 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

Presently Romero is hitting .335 with 9 home runs and 57 RBIs. He has played in 129 games and scored 84 times.
