Rome's Amezcua Named SAL's Top Player Monday, July 3rd , 2113 Pitcher Jesus Amezcua of the Rome Braves parlayed an outstanding performance last week into the South Atlantic League Player of the Week Award. He struck out 17 in 18 innings, posting a 2-0 mark and fashioned a solid 0.50 ERA. Amezcua was masterful as he held opposing hitters to a .123 batting average.
