Delmarva-Columbia Fight Results in Suspensions Thursday, June 5th , 2110 Yesterday at Spirit Communications Park Nanni Buanoroti and Juan Davila got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Delmarva Shorebirds and Columbia Fireflies. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Buanoroti will have to sit out 4 while Davila would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. So far this year, Buanoroti is batting .310 with no home runs and 1 RBIs. This season, Davila has registered 1 win and 1 loss in 5 starts with a 1.84 ERA. |
