SAL's Star Player Named Monday, July 20th , 2071 The votes have been cast and counted and the winner of the South Atlantic League Player of the Week has been chosen. It was presented earlier today to Preston Yerkes for his red-hot week of hitting. The Kannapolis right fielder took home the trophy by splurging with 11 hits in 22 at-bats for a .500 batting average, driving in 9 runs and scoring 3 times. Yerkes is batting .291 this year with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 55 at-bats. |
