Jacobs Spins No-Hitter Saturday, July 4th , 2111 Rome Braves starter Kevin Jacobs was unhittable at State Mutual Stadium. Jacobs beat the Greenville Drive, 1-0, breezing through the Drive lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Kevin started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Braves manager Tim Helfrich said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Drive never had a chance. He dominated them." Jacobs struck out 10 batters and issued 7 walks in the performance. In 14 starts this season, Jacobs has picked up 4 wins while suffering 4 losses.
