GreenJackets Reed Booms 3 HRs Sunday, July 27th , 2098 Augusta first baseman Jeff Reed blasted three homers today at Lake Olmstead Stadium in the 9-3 GreenJackets victory over the Greenville Drive. For the game, Jeff Reed scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Reed when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-3, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Reed told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Jeff Reed hit a solo-shot off Chad Cheney in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chad Cheney in the 4th and hit a three-run home run off Chad Cheney in the 5th. Reed is currently batting .404 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 44 hits in 109 at-bats. |
