Pond and Batey Fight, Get Suspended Friday, September 6th , 2109 If there wasn't a history between John Pond of Augusta and Justin Batey of Greenville, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Pond said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Pond's current batting average stands at .221 and he has chalked up 1 home run and 12 RBIs. |
