Chavez Humbles Hickory, 4-0 Wednesday, August 20th , 2110 Jorge Chavez of the Columbia Fireflies was on top of his game. The 23-year-old tantalized the Hickory Crawdads with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 4-0. "He had the changeup working," Hickory manager Jordan Castro said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Columbia hurler had 4 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.
