Monday, August 25th , 2110
Tony Capurro has to call it a season. The Lakewood BlueClaws starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Kannapolis Intimidators and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Capurro was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and stated that he would not be able to play for 7-8 months.
So far this year, Capurro has made 18 starts, tossed 107.1 innings, struck out 109 batters and walked 26. His record is 7-6 with a 2.68 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .255 batting average.
