Round 1 Goes the Distance, Augusta Prevails
Wednesday, September 17th , 2098
The fans in Augusta are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Lexington.

The Augusta GreenJackets finished off the Lexington Legends 6-4 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the Round 2.

For his standout play, Augusta second baseman Kevin Sides was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .375, drove in 4 runs and scored 2 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Sides and that doomed us," said Legends manager Willie Elizondo. "Hats off to Augusta, though. That was a great series."

The Augusta GreenJackets will play against the Kannapolis Intimidators in the next round. Kannapolis won their series against the Hagerstown Suns 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
