Imel of Hagerstown Named Best Pitcher

Dustin Imel had a terrific 2098 season in the South Atlantic League. The Hagerstown pitching stalwart received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's Pitcher of the Year Award winner.

The Suns ace starred with an impressive 14-5 record. In 26 starts, he gave up 74 base hits and struck out 329 in 156 innings with a 1.56 ERA. Opposing teams hit .139 against him.

He received 14 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jamar Smith of the Augusta GreenJackets finished second in voting, while Tony Wise of the Augusta GreenJackets finished third.
