Big Day with Bat: Young 5-for-5
Sunday, April 15th , 2108
Asheville center fielder Bobby Young could do no wrong in his team's 8-0 win over the GreenJackets, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," GreenJackets skipper Tony Guerrero said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Young agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Bobby Young hit a two-run home run off Bryan Townsend in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bryan Townsend in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Steve Fassinger in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Young currently has a .385 batting average with 15 hits, 5 homers, 11 RBIs, 8 runs scored and a .400 OBP.
