Mountain Wins Best Bat Trophy in August Tuesday, September 1st , 2111 When Pat Mountain stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the New York-Penn League Batter of the Month award. The young West Virginia second baseman posted a .346 batting average with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Mountain also worked pitchers for 16 walks to post a .435 on-base percentage. For the year, Mountain is batting .302 with 8 home runs, 33 RBIs and 32 runs scored. |
