Conti Fashions Shutout Against Batavia Saturday, August 23rd , 2098 Jake Conti bent a little, but he didn't break against the Batavia Muckdogs. The Williamsport Crosscutters pitcher hurled a 1-hit 6-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 18 strikeouts. "Jake is good at getting out of jams," Crosscutters manager Will Walsh told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
