The manager of the Connecticut Tigers said he thinks Lazaro Rodriguez is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 22, but it will be hard to top the second baseman's 2110 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the New York-Penn League Most Valuable Player Award.

His winning campaign featured a .339 batting average and a .412 on-base percentage this year. In 44 games he piled up 63 hits, 14 doubles, 7 triples, 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and 42 runs scored.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 14. Kevin Dye of the Brooklyn Cyclones finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Chris Kammerer of the Tri-City ValleyCats finished third.
