NYP Hands Out Reliever of the Year

He may only be 25, but Yorfran Carnes of the Brooklyn Cyclones has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the New York-Penn League.

The reliever was today named the NYP Reliever of the Year winner for 2098.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 9 saves in 32 relief appearances and 75 strikeouts in 48 innings. He had a record of 4-3 to go with his 1.31 ERA.

He received 14 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Nate Cowen of the Hudson Valley Renegades finished second in voting, while Brian Denning of the Williamsport Crosscutters finished third.
