League Suspends Valdes Thursday, August 10th , 2113 Jesus Valdes was suspended by the league for 3 games for "inappropriate conduct on the field," stemming from an altercation during a game with the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels yesterday at Oxnard Grounds. The Milwaukee (SS-A) first baseman refused to leave the field for several minutes after being ejected by the home plate umpire over a third-strike call. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field, but had to step between him and the umpire several times. Brewers officials told the press Valdes was not available for comment after the game. This season, Valdes is batting .265 with 3 home runs. |
