5-Hit Game for Pardoe
Monday, August 18th , 2098
The Tri-City Dust Devils stopped the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes by a score of 13-2 at Gesa Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Devon Pardoe. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Pardoe said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Pardoe did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Volcanoes.
"Not much that I can say," offered Salem-Keizer manager Josh McAdams. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Devon Pardoe singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a three-run double in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Danny Kraus in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Pardoe is hitting at a .292 pace with 3 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 51 games and scored 20 times.
