Emeralds Win Round 1
Friday, September 21st , 2108
When the entire season comes down to one game, John Serrano said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Eugene Emeralds are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Minnesota (SS-A) Twins 4-3 tonight at PK Park in order to win the Round 1 and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Serrano, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Serrano hit .444 with a .565 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Eugene Emeralds will play against the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers in the next round. Milwaukee (SS-A) won their series against the Spokane Indians 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
