Forsythe Grabs NWL Reliever of the Year

He may only be 22, but Justin Forsythe of the Vancouver Canadians has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Northwest League.

The reliever was today named the NWL Reliever of the Year winner for 2098.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 11 saves in 34 relief appearances and 87 strikeouts in 51.2 innings. He had a record of 6-3 to go with his 0.35 ERA.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Chance Fritz of the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Santiago Paniagua of the Tri-City Dust Devils finished third.
