NWL Names Pitcher of the Year Award Winner

Justin Forsythe has done something few relievers ever do -- win the Northwest League Pitcher of the Year Award. Today the Vancouver reliever got the news on the heels of his spectacular 2098 season.

He tossed 51.2 innings as he put up a 6-3 record and 11 saves. Forsythe also compiled a 0.35 ERA and collected 87 strikeouts as he held opponents to a .140 batting average.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 16. Christian Culton of the Tri-City Dust Devils finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Alejandro Sanchez of the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers finished third with 2 first place votes.
